Gefit is an Amharic word that means pressure. Dawit Seto is an Ethiopian choreographer and artist with a wide-range of work that incorporates social concerns in curatorial projects. Two performers deal with numerous pressures, shifting power balances, submissions, and complicity in the current situation in the country. A physical action moves one from lying to standing to lying in a single act. The pieces were created in collaboration with dancers Dawit Seto and Amanuel.
